Trapping an Evil Spirit

There are some acts of magic so significant that one remembers them for the rest of one's life. Their accounts become part of the lore of the coven, either passed down as memories, or sometimes written up in the Coven's Book of Shadows. One of the Witches of Coven Rochester recently pulled off such a feat, and her account contains many lessons and is worth recording and reading.

My father-in-law, Mr. X, has Parkinson’s Dementia. About two months ago, he suffered an incident in which he lost consciousness and stopped breathing for roughly 2 minutes. The hospital could find no explanation for what happened. After this incident, his behavior changed. According to my mother-in-law, Mrs. X, Mr. X became very anxious, had lots of nightmares, suffered from hallucinations and delusions, and became defiant in response to the simplest of requests. He also became obsessed with knives.

When my husband, daughter, and I visited them just before Christmas, it was clear that something was really wrong. Mrs. X could hardly eat, wasn’t sleeping, and was incredibly anxious. She admitted to being scared of Mr. X. We invited them to come home with us and to stay for a week. During that time, I was able to observe Mr. X more closely. One morning, I noticed that he started rubbing Mrs. X’s back while she was doing the dishes. That was very unlike him. He then turned and looked at me with the creepiest evil smile I have ever seen. By my clairvoyance, I instantly knew that I was looking at a female entity who was sucking energy from Mrs. X by rubbing her back. I felt that it was a moment of mutual recognition. Not only did I recognize the entity for what she was, the entity also knew me to be a Witch.

Later that day, Mr. X. tried to rub my daughter’s back as well, but we stopped him. I decided that it would also be best to hide all sharp knives present in the house.

Also, during the entire week that Mr. X and Mrs. X were visiting, every time I woke up in the middle of the night, I felt like Mr. X. was standing in a corner of our bedroom. My daughter later reported that she was seeing his head floating in her room at night.

I had seen and heard enough, so I contacted the Coven's Magister.

"I'm assuming there's no way to remove this thing from him?" I asked.

The Magister responded, "There is a way for everything." [1]

He counseled me on the topic of spirit-trap spells. He put into my hands some reading material and a copy of two traditional spells. Some of the methods were not suitable for my situation, but I felt I could manage a spirit-trap bottle spell. The spell can be used to clear a room, as well as a person. I informed Mrs. X of my plan, and she helped me to acquire some of the ingredients I needed for the spell -- beyond the empty bottle and knife that I knew I would need. I planned on using a knife that Mr. X would use at dinner.

Just before dinner, I created the spirit-trap bottle inasmuch as Mr. X. always went to bed at 8:00 pm. I was somewhat nervous whether I had enough power for what I sensed was shaping up to be a battle of wills. But, I knew the Coven maintained a kind of magical battery that I could draw on for just such a purpose as this. And I availed myself of it. I also recalled other words of my Magister. I had asked him whether the spirit-trap spell was safe. He did not answer aye or nay, but said instead, "You have the lineage of a thousand Witches behind you. Remember that *you* are in charge here." He was right.

We then ate dinner. Somehow, despite us hiding all of the sharp knives in the house, Mr. X had found one and was using it for dinner. I did not want to use a sharp knife in the spell owing to his recently-acquired obsession with knives, so I went and got a butter knife for him. He was half-way through eating his dinner at that time, but once we switched the knives, he used the new knife once and then immediately refused to use it again. I realized that, once I had created the spirit bottle, the spell had begun, and the entity knew that something was afoot. I silently reassured the entity that it was safe and that we had no intention of harming it. Mr. X. used the butter knife just once more. He then refused to eat anything else. That was also odd behavior for him, as he is the type of person who always finishes what is on his plate.

Just before he went to bed, I set up the spirit-trap bottle in his room. We explained that I was doing an experiment and that I would be doing this in all the rooms. He seemed satisfied with that explanation and went to bed without complaint at 8:00 pm.

Mr. X. always sleeps through the night with one wake-up to use the bathroom. Mrs. X, to make certain that he stayed asleep, dosed him heavily with CBD oil and 8 milligrams of melatonin, both a much higher dose than normal for him. He is also usually cold and sleeps with a sweatshirt on. Despite this, at 9:00 pm, he opened his bedroom door, dressed only in his underwear, smiled that creepy smile at me, waved, then closed the door and went back to bed.

The same thing happened again at 10:00 pm. It was as if the female entity was taunting me. I went to bed around midnight.

Before the rest of us went to bed, I set up certain protective charms in each of the bedrooms. The charms were designed to prevent a spirit from entering the room. The Coven Magister had told me that there was a certain herbal substance that could be placed in each room to prevent the entrance of spirits. I tried to find the substance at local markets, but was unsuccessful. As Fate would have it, the Magister had the Oil of (substance) on hand, and he couriered it over to me. A drop in a glass of water would work just as well, perhaps even better.

At 1:43 am, Mr. X. walked physically into the master bedroom, where I and my husband were sleeping. Mr. X was again dressed only in his underwear. He stood in the very corner where I had been sensing him all week. I realized that the entity had caused him to physically enter the room because it could not enter the room astrally owing to the protective charm in the room.

My husband and I asked Mr. X. what he was doing, and he stammered something about needing to use the bathroom. We discovered, however, that he already had used it, so we ushered him back to bed.

At 5:06 am, I woke up to multiple, fast images and thoughts of opening things:

"Open up the teapot and smell what’s inside."

"Open up the box and see what’s in it."

"Open up the BOTTLE and smell what’s inside."

I knew at that moment that the entity was investigating the bottle and was possibly inside it already. It also coincided with another trip to the bathroom by Mr. X. This time he made it back to his room without coming into our bedroom.

At 8:00 am, Mrs. X woke up Mr. X. I immediately capped the spirit-trap bottle. I gave it to Mrs. X with the instructions that, until it was disposed of, it was never to be opened, no matter how the entity might try to persuade her to open it. Disposing of the bottle would involve throwing it into running water.

That morning, we all observed a big difference in Mr. X. He looked like himself, was much less vacant, very calm and kind, and the creepiness was gone.

Mrs. X and Mr. X. returned home later that day. While driving home, Mrs. X heard the thought twice in her head, "Open up the bottle." Instead, she followed my instructions and threw it into a river.

Mr. X. has continued to improve. He can now help with chores, is compliant, and much more expressive than he’s been in a long time. The anxiety, hallucinations, and delusions are gone. The spell was successful. Mrs. X has continued to thank me profusely for "returning" her husband to her, and at least one other family member has contacted me to thank me. Mr. X, himself, has expressed some gratitude, in his own way, for having been helped.

[1] When I texted that to her, I was thinking of the old Witches' proverb: "There is a cure for everything but stark dead."
