Astrology: Is He Lying?
A great thing about knowing an objective and reliable method of divination is that you can determine when people are lying. Perhaps in the Internet Age, people think that they can get away with much more deception than in the past. Fake profiles and photos, scam phone and text numbers, anonymous comments, bots, and so on. But, as Endora once said to Samantha, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but don't try to pull anything over on a Witch."
So mote it be.
Here, Q was chatting with a man on a dating/hookup app. The Man---let's call him Mr. Mars---was reluctant to send a face photograph. He eventually did so, but it showed him wearing a face mask, a la the Covid-19 Years. The Q then contacted the astrologer and said, "I just have a funny feeling that it is not really a photograph of him, but of someone that may generally resemble him. Is he lying? Is that really him in the photograph?"
It doesn't matter much in the analysis, but Q gets Lord 1/Venus and the Moon as his significators. He's got good and honest dignity, but the question is not about him, so we can ignore that.
The Man gets Lord 7, Mars. Hence Mr. Mars above. Mars is peregrine, without dignity. That's not a good start for an evaluation of Mr. Mars's integrity.
We have to scan around the chart to look for the photograph. The most obvious candidate is Saturn in Aries sitting squat on the cusp of House 7, the house of Mr. Mars. Saturn is the natural ruler of cameras and photographs because Saturn is the planet of consolidation and the planet of time. And that is the essence of a photograph: a moment that has been captured and consolidated in time.
Here, Saturn is in fall...The photograph is ill-dignified in some way; there's something wrong with it. And, in Aries, it is under the control of Mr. Mars. The photograph, in itself, is not ill-dignified. It's ill-dignified because Mr. Mars has control over it, i.e., the use to which Mr. Mars is putting it.
So, what's wrong with the photo? Well, Saturn is conjunct Neptune---the planet of deceit and illusion---within a degree. What's wrong about it is that it is fake. And this fakeness afflicts the ASC/Q by opposition.
Note also the placement of Mars---just on the cusp of the 12th house. It is another indication that Mr. Mars is deceiving the Q. Moreover, the South Node also afflicts the 12th house.
Q later met the man, and he still couldn't tell if it was the same man. The man swore that it was his photograph.
I vigorously dissent. Mr. Mars was lying, and the photograph was a catfishing attempt to preserve his identity for some reason. The stars do not lie, and there is no room for misinterpretation here.
