Prophecy: The Oracle at Delphi

covenrochesterJust one of the amazing and true stories from the ancient Oracle at Delphi, through which the Lord of the Sun spoke to mankind.
In 279 BC, the people of the city of Delphi in Greece learned from its martial scouts that a Celtic tribe to the north was planning an invasion.

The Delphic citizens were not terribly warlike, and they knew that they were in trouble. Clutching their pearls, their brows all furrowed, they approached the Oracle of Delphi. There, Apollo--god of prophecy, the sun, and music--would speak to them. They asked how they could avoid the imminent catastrophe.
Apollo, through his entranced priestess, gave the following response:

EVERYBODY CALM DOWN!
*I* WILL TAKE CARE OF THIS.
When the Celtic tribe came southward toward Delphi, they were met with strange terrestrial and weather phenomena. First, an earthquake. Next, an avalanche of boulders and rocks. Finally – and very strange for Greece it was – a colossal snowstorm.
The Celts were forced to retreat. The Lord of the Sun kept his word.
